We are in the middle of the biggest crisis that mankind will face and no, it’s not another strain of COVID-19. We are facing global water scarcity. Crippling water shortages might seem like a plot of a sci-fi movie but it is a fact of the present life. Water provides life to this planet; it provides identity to this planet. The World Wide Fund for Nature, WWF claims that two-thirds of the world’s population will face water shortages by 2025. We are continuously being reminded of the ill practices of water usage. Several global projects are underway to mitigate this crisis. These include the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the 2015 Paris Agreement within the UN Convention Framework on Climate Change and many more. Still, numerous cities and even countries are encountering water deficits at a vast scale across the globe.
