What’s up at SciRio? (February 2022)

We help find and create opportunities for Science Communicators and explore avenues to construct, collaborate, and contribute to expanding our community.

What’s up at SciRio?

When we accept uncertainty, it becomes an adventure.

This month’s issue talks about our journey in the SciComm Space from an idea to a company. All along this joyous ride, we met people old and new, and together we explored the possibilities to help build a better tomorrow.

And, the rest is history for you!

We have an exciting announcement for the month in this issue. Read it till the end.

Thank you for your continued support.

Let’s create something brilliant together!

Our new step in the SciComm sphere…

We are the Logistics Partners of The Life of Science Calendar 2022-23 –Indian Women, Transgender and Nonbinary Persons in Science.

The Life of Science is a multiform diary of experiences of womxn and minorities in science, collected on labhopping journeys across India.

Partnering with The Life of Science extends our vision of uplifting the awareness of women, transgender and nonbinary persons contributing to STEM in India.

It also enables us to connect the dots between science and society.

By purchasing this calendar, you are not only adding something beautiful and enlightening to your work desk or home, but you are also helping them keep their independent feminist science media project (TheLifeofScience.com) alive in 2022.

Venturing into a SciComm Startup…

Shark Tank India ignited the entrepreneurial wave in the country, with many more people coming up with intriguing ideas to start their businesses and thus, supporting the Make in India Campaign.

How can SciComm be left behind?

Her story is as unique as it is inspiring.

Author

I am the Founder and Managing Editor of SciRio, a digital ecosystem for science communicators who want to communicate science to people who are non-experts in any fields of science. After stints as a Research Associate at the Indian Institute of Science and Centre for Human Genetics working on Cancer Research and Developmental Biology, I shifted gears to communicating science and become an entrepreneur.

I established SciRio to support science communicators in networking better, finding appropriate training and resources, and ultimately provide unexplored opportunities to science communicators.
