Prof Gundu Rao, an Emeritus Professor from the University of Minnesota has had extensive experience working with various organisations, hospitals and institutions in promoting community-based research and preventive care for heart diseases. For the same cause, he started a society called the South Asian Society on Atherosclerosis and Thrombosis (SASAT) that prides to be South Asia’s voice on Vascular diseases. This is an open society where anyone working on preventive medicine can become a part of it.
